The Maryland Commercial Lenders Association is a non-profit organization founded in 2007. It is dedicated to the support and education of commercial lenders vs. commercial lending in and around Maryland market area. Our focus is generally on Federal, State and local guaranty and lending programs.
Our membership includes representatives of local, midsize and large lending institutions throughout the greater Maryland market area. Other members include professionals from other areas such as certified development corporations, attorneys, accountants, insurance and other industry professionals. Collectively, these members wish to educate Maryland lenders and borrowers as to the alternatives for small business lending as well as directing borrowers to the proper lender for their specific needs. Our annual fundraising events, meetings and conferences are the primary means of raising funds to support our educational and other programs.
As you can well imagine, our mission is critical as many new and existing business have trouble accessing capital through conventional banking sources. Through the use of government programs, lenders are able to mitigate risk and provide access to capital for borrowers looking to start or expand their business that may not have been able to obtain it otherwise.
